Insurance & Direct Billing

Many of our therapists offer direct billing to most major insurance companies — a courtesy we provide to make therapy more accessible.

Many of the therapists at Culminate Group offer direct billing to most insurance companies (Manulife, Canada Life, Sun Life, Green Shield, and others). If you are interested in direct billing and wish to confirm that your insurance company is one we can direct bill to, please .

Direct billing is a service we offer as a courtesy to our clients to allow for increased accessibility to services. While we offer this service, we cannot check or provide information on your individual healthcare plan. You are solely responsible for understanding and seeking information related to your healthcare benefits.

Before You Sign Up for Direct Billing

It is up to you to contact your insurance provider and confirm the following:

Your coverage

Confirm your coverage for psychotherapy provided by a Registered Psychotherapist (RP) or a Registered Social Worker (MSW/RSW), depending on the therapist you are seeing. All plans vary in the practitioner they cover for psychotherapy.

Percentage & maximums

The percentage of each visit covered and any plan maximums. You are responsible for any amount remaining after insurance at the time of your session, and for the full amount once your yearly maximum has been reached.

Direct-billing eligibility

That your plan allows direct billing from practitioners. Some plans do not allow direct billing from psychotherapists — in that case we would require you to pay up front and submit to your insurance yourself.

If there is an issue with a claim

We cannot guarantee that your claims will be accepted, even when all of the conditions above are met. If there are any issues with direct billing — such as holds for review, claim audits, insurance platform errors, or outages — you are responsible for payment of your session fees up front and for submitting to your insurance yourself.

If your provider isn't listed in your insurer's directory

In rare cases, your provider's name may not be available to search in your insurance provider's directory when submitting claims — this is not typically something we can control. In these cases, you can usually submit your claim manually without using the search. Once the claim is reviewed (often 5–7 business days), you will receive any reimbursement you are entitled to, or additional information will be requested to approve the claim. Please reach out if you require any additional information for claims approval.

Fee structure
